Farr & Roberts began trading in 1949. The firm was founded by Herbert Farr and Maurice Roberts and its first location was in Bell Street, Maidenhead.

Highly Commended in The 2012 Chilterns Buildings Design Awards by The Chilterns Conservation Board and The Chiltern Society for the restoration and extension to listed building to create retail, office and residential space, 37-39 London End, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. We were awarded for ‘A complex and well-managed scheme resulting in the happy discovery of an original shop front and the full refurbishment, redevelopment and re-use of an important sit'.

We are always conscious of environmental issues and we are used to handling complex projects with unusual requirements. We are often asked to work with one-off, bespoke development projects. Farr & Roberts offers sustainable building solutions, including the correct disposal of building waste, via licensed sites.

Managing Director Doug Wilson looks after the smaller projects, including house refurbishments, new houses and commercial works. He has 28 years’ of experience in the construction industry.

Technical Director Ron Wilson attained his degree in Structural Engineering from Brunel University, prior to joining Ove Arup. He balanced his professional life with a six year period of playing rugby for Scotland, as a fly half. He looks after larger projects for the firm, both in the domestic and business sectors.
